I was completely new to EFT before buying this, so at first I felt a little awkward tapping on my face and saying the phrases out loud. After doing it a few times though, it started to feel much more natural. I really like that the guide tells you exactly where to tap and what to say instead of leaving you to figure everything out yourself. The 10-minute reset has been the most useful for me, especially after stressful days when my mind just won't slow down. I gave it 4 stars because I wish there were a few more scripts for different situations, but the ones included are easy to change into your own words. Overall, simple, practical, and something I've actually continued using.
I've bought a LOT of self-help stuff over the years and my biggest complaint is usually that there's too much reading and not enough doing. This was different. I was able to understand what I was supposed to do pretty quickly and actually try it the same day. The tapping diagram helped a lot in the beginning because I had never done EFT before. After a few sessions the sequence became pretty easy to remember. I also like having the shorter routine for times when doing the entire thing isn't realistic. It feels like something designed to actually be used in everyday life.
I bought this mostly because my brain has a habit of going into overdrive at night, and I was tired of just being told to 'relax.' What I liked about this book is that it actually gives you something to do. The tapping routine was easy to follow, and the 3 A.M. section alone was worth it for me. I've used the shorter version a few times when I could feel myself getting worked up, and it helped me settle down instead of sitting there feeding the same thoughts over and over. It's short, practical, and doesn't make you read 100 pages before getting to the useful part. Definitely something I'll keep coming back to.
It's weird because I have no idea how it works but it does. It sounds a bit weird that you just tap a few points on your body and focus on your problems but I noticed an immediate shift in my mood. I've been doing consistently since purchasing the book and feel like a brand new person. There
The book isn't bad and I've noticed some improvement, but I'm still not sure what the timeline is supposed to be for the issue to feel fully resolved. I definitely haven't had the dramatic change some people seem to report, although I do feel a little calmer after tapping and some days it works better than others. I'm going to keep doing it for a while and see if the effect builds over time.
Okay I was skeptical, tapping on my face sounded crazy to me. But I said whatever and tried it. Went from feeling super tense to calmer by the end. I'm definitely keeping this on my phone.
I know about EFT from other sources and while this provides nothing new for those who already know, it's a pretty good introduction for people starting out. It's a huge field with all sorts of possibilities and people use it for all problems in their daily life. Decent.
This book neatly covers tapping. It is a form of acupressure. Instead of doing things with needles, like acupuncture, you're doing it with your hands. It's a simple but powerful technique.
I appreciate how straightforward this guide is. I'm not someone who wants to read 250 pages about anxiety before finally reaching the part that tells me what I'm supposed to do about it. I was able to understand the tapping points and basic process pretty quickly and start using the exercises that same evening. I also like that the book encourages you to use your own words once you understand the process instead of treating the included scripts like something you have to follow perfectly. That's actually where this became most useful for me. Once I started changing the phrases to match whatever was bothering me that particular day, the whole exercise felt much more natural. I mainly use the regular reset when I've had one of those days where I'm technically home and done with everything but my body hasn't gotten the message yet. Ten minutes later I usually feel noticeably less wound up. For something this simple, I've gotten a surprising amount of use out of it.
The guide was easy to understand and I liked that I could get into the actual tapping pretty quickly without reading a ton of background information first. I tried the 10-minute reset a few times and did notice myself feeling a little less tense afterward, especially in my shoulders and jaw. I also liked having actual words to follow because I wouldn't have known what to say on my own. I was expecting a bigger difference based on some of the things I'd heard about EFT. It helped, just wasn't dramatic for me. I'm going to keep using it for a few weeks and see if the results improve with practice.
Im sort of angry because I've suffered from anxiety for years and there really hasn't been a solution for me. I've taken Lexapro for a while for GAD and it led to some pretty negative side effects. I've recently been looking into alternative therapies and saw this. To think that acupressure could cause such a dramatic shift in my life from just pressing on my body. I am so freaking upset things like this exist and get no recognition. Thank you so much for the work you're doing. I am going to make it a point to buy other books from you in the future.
I owe tapping an apology because I thought this was complete crap. A friend had mentioned Emotional Freedom Therapy before and I remember thinking there was absolutely no way tapping different spots on your body was going to make you less stressed. Bought this anyway because I was curious. I followed the instructions exactly, rated myself before starting, did the rounds and rated myself again. I genuinely stared at the number afterward like HOW did I just go from feeling that wound up to this?
What surprised me most was that I wasn't forcing myself to think positively. I still knew exactly what I was worried about. It just didn't feel as physically intense anymore. I've used the reset after work several times since and that's been pretty consistent for me. I'm still skeptical about plenty of things lol, but I'm officially shutting up about tapping because apparently my body likes it even if my brain doesn't understand it.
Just WOW
I usually feel less tense after going through the routine, which surprised me.. Wish there were a few more examples, but I've gotten good use out of it.
Been doing this for about a week now and the main thing I've noticed is I don't stay worked up as long. I still have the same thoughts, but they feel muted.
I've tried a bunch of things for overthinking, and most of them either feel too complicated or take too much time. This was actually really easy to follow. I especially liked the 10-minute reset and the shorter version for when I'm already in bed and don't feel like doing a whole routine. I wouldn't say it magically gets rid of every stressful thought, but it definitely helps me calm down faster and stop getting so caught up in my own head. I just wish the book was a little longer because I finished it pretty quickly. Still, for something simple I can actually use, I'm happy I bought it.
I wasn't sure what to expect because I'd never tried tapping before, but I'm really glad I gave this a chance. The instructions are simple enough that I didn't feel like I had to 'learn' a whole new thing before using it. I tried the 10-minute reset after a really stressful day and was surprised by how much less wound up I felt afterward. I've also started using the short version at night when my mind won't stop going. It's become one of those little things I keep coming back to when I need to settle myself down.
The nighttime routine has been the best part for me because that's usually when my brain decides to overthink everything. It doesn't completely erase my stress but it helps me settle down faster. It is worth trying at least.
Part of me still wants to say this is just a placebo effect because I don't really understand how tapping on my face is supposed to do anything lol. But almost every time I do the EFT routine I start yawning over and over again. My body is clearly having some kind of reaction to it because I can literally feel myself getting less tense as I go. I feel calmer afterward and that's really all I care about.
